Adoption Fees

At PAWS for Life, every animal is valued equally and consider to be priceless. Some of our adoption fees vary and are dependent on many factors including age, size, breed, and popularity.

Our adoption fees make caring for the animals possible. We provide veterinary assistance to animals needing medical care prior to (and sometimes after) adoption and incur those costs as soon as the animals enter our facility, regardless of how long they stay with us before finding their forever families. Adoption fees offset these costs and allow us to provide necessary care for each and every animal who passes through our doors.

Prior to adoption, each dog and cat are examined by our veterinarian, received age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Rabies vaccinations are given to animals over three months of age.

NOTE: Some of the animals that come to our shelter are in high demand and quickly find a loving home. These animals may have higher adoption prices (not listed) – this is because their fees enable us to help other animals in our care who may need extensive medical care or more time to find a loving home.

How to Pay

Every animal that PAWS for Life intakes is provided the basic standard of care to prepare them for adoption including, socialization, leash training on pack walks, playtime in the yard or colonies, spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and microchipping. The majority of animals that enter our shelter have NOT received this care prior to their arrival. The costs can add up to a significant amount for PAWS, and our adoption fees help us recover only a portion of these expenses. Thank you for your support!
